EVENT: RMT demonstration against McNulty Report

RMT demonstration at The BT Convention Centre, Liverpool on Tuesday 28th June starting at 0830am to coincide with The National Rail Conference "Implementing McNulty"

The McNulty Report was commissioned by the last Labour Government and produced under a Tory Government. In its essence it is a all out attack on rail workers, wanting them to pay for reducing the cost of running the railway, rather then the privateer greed that has bleeds the taxpayers purse every year by at least £2bn every year.

The study has the potential to remove every conductor/guard from every train and to de-staff many stations, and also proposes to have more fragmentation creating a Railtrack Mk2, privatisation led to the disasters lead at Hatfield and Potters Bar and the tragic deaths of 4 RMT members at Tebay. McNulty wants to go back to this.

Passengers will also suffer from mega-inflation busting fare increases and further restrictions on off-peak tickets. Rail workers will suffer with attacks on terms and conditions. In short this report is a disaster and will lead to a less safe railway.

The only way to run a railway is nationalised, privatisation has caused the railway to be more expensive and we all must resist this attack from the Tories. The terrible line line-up of speakers include Roy McNulty, Philip Hammond and Stephen Norris

RMT would therefore urge everyone to attend this demonstration and give your support
