Kevin Halpin was once described by the Tabloid press as "the most dangerous man in Britain" due to his tireless work as a Trade Unionist and as a Communist. He is best known as the legendary organiser of the Liaison Committee for the Defence of Trade Unions that defeated the Tory government in the 1970sThe facinating acount of his life dedicated ot the working class, "Memoirs of a militant", had it's Scottish book launch with Kevin and Anita Halpin on 2 November 2012 with a packed-out audience.
