EVENT: Our Health Service – Not for Sale!

Protest against Andrew Lansley in Manchester
Thursday 7th July 4.30 - 6pm  outside Manchester Central Conference Centre (GMEX)

ConDem government want to destroy our NHS.
  • NHS Bill will open the door to massive privatisation and competition.
  • They promised no cuts and have cut £20 billion over the next 4 years.
  • In Manchester £950million will be cut. Already we have seen Rochdale, maternity in Trafford, Bury and Salford, and many local wards close. This is only the beginning.
  • They expect 150,000 less NHS staff.
  • They want us to work til we are 66 years old. Can you imagine a health service full of 66 year old nurses, porters, ambulance staff and domestics? All working for lower wages towards poverty older age
Protests have already made them “pause” in their plans and climbdown a little. But they still plan open competition which puts profit over people. We need to stop them in their tracks. The Tories never liked the NHS. Now they are using the economic crisis to privatise it once and for all.

But they can be stopped. Join us and tell Andrew Lansley, secretary of State for health, what you think. Bring banners, posters.
