He was born and grew up in a refugee camp in Gaza. He remembers his father hauling himself across the dirt floor on his stomach to look under the rickety wooden door to see if the Israeli soldiers were far enough away that he could let his children out to pee.

People who have been to Palestine say that it was a life-changing experience. I have read his books and I read all his articles in the Morning Star. These have been life-changing experiences for me.
